Dear Patrick, Greg, Wendy, Rhonda and families,
I am so very sorry to have recently learned of your mom's passing. I was starting my Christmas cards and had an unsettling feeling when I came to her name.
She was such an amazing woman, she was always welcoming, warm and cared deeply about others.
I am saddened that there is another link to my dad, Jimmy Smith, that is now missing. Thinking of you during this difficult holiday season.
With sympathy,
Mary Emmett and family

Aunt Marion always had this warmth about her. Regardless of how much time went by without seeing each other, you could just catch up where you left off.
She will be missed greatly by our family.

Our deepest condolences to my cousins, their partners, and the grandchildren, and family at this difficult time.
Michael and I were very saddened to hear the news on the passing of Marion. She was a very special aunt to me. After much time with heavy hearts, we reminisced about the wonderful times we have shared, the visits to PEI, New Dundee, Brantford, and Billerica. There are many to remember, to smile about, and share a laugh, too, through the tears. Her loss will affect us all deeply.
I am reminded of the Irish saying, "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal." With the memories we have of Marion, our hearts are full of a wealth beyond imagination. Marion was a light in all our lives that brought much joy, laughter, and warmth, and will continue to do so for as long as we remember her.
With deepest sympathy and with much love,
Marc & Michael

Rhonda, Wendy, Greg, Patrick and Families,
My heartfelt condolences on Marion’s passing. She was such a wonderful Aunt and I have so many great memories of her in Blooming Point. She always had a smile on her face, even with the revolving door (or, I guess it was more of a slamming screen door) of kids, people and animals coming in and out of the trailer.
The summers in PEI certainly won’t be the same without her.
All the best,
Jason and Katherine

With heartfelt sympathy to Patrick, Alison, Danielle, Nicole, Greg, Wendy, John, Jody, Jack, Rhonda, Bea, and Mary Jean, Connie, Jack, Buddy and their families.
We have so many fond memories of Marion, she was a wonderful sister-in-law and a faithful friend. Over the years we enjoyed the many great visits we had with Marion and Pat and their four children at their home in Billerica, MA and their summer home on PEI. After Pat's passing in 2005, Marion continued on with her noted great hospitability and we had many more enjoyable family gatherings.
Marion was a person of deep faith, she was a very caring person and touched the lives of many people with her compassion and acts of kindness. Marion was always ready to lend a helping hand and will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Blessing to her, we will all miss her dearly.
(And may there be no sadness of farewell when I have crossed the bar) Rest well dear Marion.
With love and prayers,
Aunt Mary

I was so sorry to hear of Marion’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. It was always a joy to see the light on in the cottage and the car parked in the yard when she would come home in June.
I will remember laughing over the stories we shared while enjoying the lovely dinners she made at the cottage. I will remember how much she loved her view over Tracadie Bay as she had her morning coffee. She was always so welcoming, a wonderful sister-in-law and friend.
We will miss her very much.

Our condolences to Patrick & Alison, Danielle and Nicole, Greg, Wendy & John, Jody and Jack and Rhonda & Bea on the passing of your mother and grandmother.
Marion was a fun and wonderful Aunt to the Alford family and we all loved her very much. We greatly enjoyed the times spent together when we visited Marion and her family in Billerica, on Prince Edward Island and in Brantford, Ontario and it didn't matter where or when we saw Marion, she always had her homemade jars of jam and other preserves to give (Greg swears Marion's homemade jam is the best out there).
Despite Marion's serious health issues over the years, it never stopped her from calling our home or sending a get well card when one of us wasn't well.
We are thankful to have had Marion as our Aunt and we share in your grief because Marion truly was one of a kind, and we will all miss her.
Love to all,
Karen, Greg, Dalton and Jaycee

With a heavy heart, I was so sad to hear that Marion passed away. I have so many fond memories that we shared together - when I visited Marion and her family at her home in Billerica, I also enjoyed the many trips Marion made to Brantford, Ontario...….and then there are the countless times we shared while she was enjoying her summer home on Prince Edward Island - we had a lot of great chats and laughs. Marion was a great hostess and she was a wonderful person with a big heart. I will miss her dearly.

Marion was a spear of light when you saw her, I'll miss when we saw each other she'd say there's DeeDaw, my childhood name, and she'd bring me back to the day and we'd hug and there was nothing in the world more important than that moment. I know all had the same happiness with Marion, she called her family and friends a clan, and that we were, we are all going to miss our ever loving Marion, a woman of faith, and God has taken her in to his fold, with all on the other side in Paradise, till we meet again, Lord, please give your peace and be with her family. Patrick, Alison, Wendy, John, Greg, Rhonda, Bea and families. Sandy and I share in your sadness at Marion’s passing. As so many have mentioned, she was such a large part of our family and so full of life, laughter and joy. Times spent with you all in Billerica and Blooming Point are some of my best memories. Your Mom had a big heart and was so willing to share her time and talents. I particularly remember the month I spent in Boston in the summer of 1974 babysitting for Edna & Neil. She came to my rescue more than once and taught me a lot about caring for kids and enjoying life. We love you all and have you in our hearts and prayers at this difficult time. Cathy & Sandy.

This breaks my heart to write this Marion was not only my Aunt but a wonderful loyal friend. We had many great chats a lot of laughs even in our hardships. We didn't even have to tell each other how we were feeling we just both knew.
I will miss her warm smile, her gentle voice and above all her huge heart. She opened her house to all at any given time. I have such wonderful memories of her home, it reminded me of the homestead on PEI and I always told her never change at thing I got such comfort there.
Marion was a giving person in every respect she loved to share her talents with us including making all kinds of pickle, jams and her ceramics giving away to all she loved.
Patrick, Greg, Wendy, Rhonda and Bea and families I want you to know your are in my prayers and I am only a phone call away if you ever feel like talking.
