Florence Rinker

Obituary of Florence Y. Rinker

Florence Yvonne Baumunk-Rinker left this world on August 31, 2020 after a life well lived at the age of 84. We are sure her soul rose with great joy at the prospect of reuniting with her husband and our father Arthur Lynn Rinker.

Florence was born June 17,1936 in Shunk, PA to Milo and Minnie Williams-Baumunk. Florence was the oldest of their four children and cherished her two brothers Walter Baumunk, Blake Baumunk and her sister Gaynold Baumunk McClintock. Florence attended Loyalsock High School with her future husband Arthur and were High School sweethearts, she also attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. with a major in business. Arthur left her side only once in 56 of marriage and then only to fulfill his duty with the United States Navy. While in the Navy Florence guarded the home front in Newport RI. and in 1956 gave birth to the first of their two children, a son, Lynn Francis Rinker. Florence also give birth to a daughter, GayMarie Rinker.  Flo continued her education in later life after her children had left the nest and obtained her cosmetology license from the state of Massachusetts, which brought her great joy. Arthur and Flo loved to travel, square dance, volunteer, and enjoy the company of their family, friends and each other.  They were both life long Methodists. Flo was a member of the PEO sisterhood and a Girl Scout Leader.  In later years Art and Flo left Mass. and moved to Colorado to be closer to their 3 grandchildren, Lauren, Hayden, and Colter. In Winter they left Colorado like the Snowbirds they were and headed for the warmer climate of Arizona to enjoy the sun and friendship of other like minded retirees. Flo lived out her remaining years after the death of Arthur, in Mass. Her daughter GayMarie provided love, care and companionship for our mother despite the curse of a worldwide Pandemic.

Florence is survived by her son Lynn and his wife Stacey and their 3 children Lauren, Hayden and Colter, as well as her daughter GayMarie and her husband David Ronnow and many sister and brother-in laws, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Walter but is survived by her sister Gaynold and brother Blake.

At this time no formal services are planned, although a scattering of ashes and prayers will be conducted for both of our parents this Spring in the Colorado that they both loved.  The pets throughout our lives have brought us great joy so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the local animal shelter of your choice.
