Mrs. Phyllis E (Roy) Potter, age 88, a long-time resident of Billerica, MA passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
Phyllis was born on December 22, 1931 in Boston, MA. She was one of 2 daughters of the late George Roy and Annie B (Rafuse) Roy.
Mrs. Potter was raised in Boston and attended New Tribes Mission School in Michigan. She worked at the same factory for 38 years making oil filters. Phyllis was an avid supporter of missions and went on several mission trips as well as serving in a missions-based church in Lowell whenever needed. She was a founding member of New Colony Baptist Church in Billerica where she served, faithfully, as a choir member, in children’s ministries and a Special Needs Sunday School teacher. She was a woman of prayer who encouraged those around her with her kind words and gentle nature.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harold C. Potter with whom she shared over 30 years of marriage. She is survived by her devoted sister, Jean Mcleod of Chelmsford and nephew, David McLeod and his wife, Kristine McLeod of Billerica. She loved her pets and cared for the dogs and cats that came into her life.
Interment services only at Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree, MA. 02184 on
Tuesday, October 6, at 11:00 AM. All family and friends are welcome.
