Richard was a longtime dear friend of my husband, Larry,(now passed away), and me. We spent many vacations with Richard and his wife Mary traveling to various destinations including New Orleans, San Antonio & San Padre Isle, TX. Richard was as avid historian of Civil War events. We enjoyed searching for monuments, significant sites where events took place and visiting museums that had actual relics from that war. Richard also had a great appreciation of the visual arts, enjoyed poetry and for years played the flute. He was proud of and we greatly admired his military service in the Marines. Mary's and Richard's love for each other was deep and abiding. I will never forget him and will treasure the memories we all shared.

I haven’t seen Richard in a number of years but we served on the board at St Anne’s together years ago when we were searching for a new reverend. He was such a nice man and always asked after my young son. Every time I drove by the house and saw his car I thought fondly of him. May he rest in peace.
