Obituary of Paula Mullane
Paula Mullane originally of Cambridge, MA, age 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. She resided in Medford, MA.
Paula graduated from St. Mary of the Annunciation high school in 1965, where she excelled academically, and later worked at MIT. She is remembered as an incredibly special person that was dearly loved by her children, family, and friends. Paula was creative, kind, loving, and bright, and lived a life full of joy. She was recognized for her unique personality and colorful style, including her extensive hat collection. She was a passionate runner, completing the Boston Marathon multiple times. She loved music, dancing, movies, television, and taking photos with her disposable cameras.
Most of all, Paula took immense joy in raising and spending time with her son, Khaled Hiari, and her daughter, Jennah Rae Taylor. She was extremely proud to see each of her children married to loving spouses, Jody Hiari and Zachary Taylor. In the past year, she was overjoyed to welcome her first grandson, Evan Hiari. Paula loved being a mom to her children and their many friends, and created a warm and welcome space for all. She also enjoyed feline friends throughout her life, and was survived by her beloved cat and TV watching companion, Scoop.
She was the daughter of the late Edward Mullane and the late Evelyn Mahoney, of Tremont Street in Cambridge, and sister of E. Peter Mullane, surviving. She is also survived by family members and friends.
Paula's Memorial service will be on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10AM to Noon, with prayers and remarks at 11AM, at John C. Burns Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139. Relatives and friends are invited to join to celebrate her life.
