Obituary of Karen M. Mahoney

Karen Marie (DeVelis) Mahoney of Billerica, formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2022 at the age of 62 under the palliative care of Lahey Medical Center, Burlington MA.  Karen was the beloved wife of Rich Mahoney for 21 years.  She was the devoted mother of Brandon P. Mahoney.  She was also the cherished daughter of the late Cosmo DeVelis, and is survived by her mother Mildred (Twohig) DeVelis of Billerica.  She will be missed by her loving sisters, Deborah Cecere, and her husband David Cecere of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Julie Cataldo and her husband Michael Cataldo of Billerica MA, and her brother-in-law, Jim Mahoney of Tewksbury, and her sister-in-law, the late Maureen Mahoney.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews - Keara, Nina, Keagan, Justin, Alexa & Jake.

Funeral from Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road (Rt 3A), Billerica on Tuesday, March 8 at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass in St, Matthew Evangelist Parish at  St. Theresa’s Church, 466 Boston Rd, Billerica at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Visiting hours, Monday 4-7 PM in the Burns Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s name to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, www.mspcs.org/adoption/metheun-nevins.
