Obituary of Joyce Marie McClure

Joyce Marie McClure, fondly known as “Joycee”, went home to heaven on March 18, 2022 from her beloved City of Cambridge.

Joyce was born in Cambridge on June 9, 1953 to the late William H. and Dorothy M. Dilworth.  She was the sister of Barton Dilworth and his husband John Davidson, and Jill Dilworth. Siblings: Brian Dilworth, Janice Cullity and Barry Dilworth (who preceded her in death).

Joyce and Lenny connected in love during their high school years but separated soon after he left for college.  Years later, the love they had for each other was rekindled and they were joined in matrimony on October 10, 2010. Joyce worked for the Cambridge Public Schools Department for over 25 years.  She was loved by all who knew her.  She loved to travel to the Caribbean, Virginia, Florida and her favorite spot, St. Maarten. Joyce was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that anyone could ask for.  She would constantly travel throughout the year to visit her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Her family trips were full of joy and happiness in addition to the bundles of clothes and toys she would gift them.  She will be especially remembered for the love and caring that was expressed through the selfless giving of her time. Joyce is survived by her husband: Leonard Nunley, Sons; Lamar and his wife Angela, and Romal, Grandchildren; Tamara, Malika, Romal, Tiris, Khalil, Muhammad, Suhayb, Hafsa, Sarah, Great-grandchildren; Ne’vaeh Marie, Allen, Ny’mira, Zy’mara, Special daughters; Stacey Willams, Halima En-Nanji, Cozette Nunley-Forbes and her husband Jason Forbes, Mother-in-Law, Jewel Cobb, In-laws; Bruce Nunley, Terry Nunley, Virginia Thompson, Nannette Simonis, Sandra Nunley West, Kenneth Nunley and their loving  families. Also mourning her passing are close friends; Paul and Irma Sullivan, Emily Schatzow and her children; Rachel, Jonah and Brianna.  She is predeceased by former husband Robert McClure and great-granddaughter Nylayah. Joyce also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the John C. Burns & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, Wednesday, March 23, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited. www.burnsfuneralhomes.com
