Obituary of Nancy Eileen Caraco
Nancy Eileen (Graves) Caraco, age 62, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of 42 years of Riccardo "Rick" Caraco. She was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, December 2, 1947, the daughter of the late Leslie and Marion (Good) Graves. Nancy came to the United States as a child and grew up in Somerville before settling in North Billerica in 1976 to raise her family. For over 20 years she owned and operated her own home-cleaning business. She was always full of life. Among her many pleasures were maintaining her home and garden, reading, cooking (she made the world's best potato salad and desserts!), keeping her cars showroom-clean, and various crafts and needlework, which were always of impeccable quality. Each year she would literally count down the days until she would return to her homeland of P.E.I. to visit her family and read a good book by the red dirt beaches of Argyle Shore. As much as she loved Prince Edward Island, she also had a special place in her heart for New York City, even though she had been there only once. Her son, Stephen, took her there on a "3-day field trip" in 2006, and she continued to talk about it every single day, re-living the experience with everyone she knew. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughter, Sheila Marie Toppi of Lowell and her son, Stephen Michael Caraco of Roslindale, her grandson, Cody James Toppi, her sister, Elaine Dorothy(Graves) Shores of Nashua, NH, and her nephew, Wayne Allen Shores. She was also the sister of the late Donald Cortland Graves.
