Phil was a wonderful friend - kind, generous and so much fun. My day always got better when he walked in my office at Middlesex — he had such deep love for the place, the people who worked there and our students. Mari and I will always cherish our friendship with him and be ever-grateful for his many, many kindnesses to us. Jim Mullen

My best memories of Phil were the adventurous rides he would provide for students and me, as we traveled from the College in Lowell to Boston and beyond. Big Dig be damned! Phil knew all the ins and outs, short cuts, and work-arounds, to deliver us always safely to our appointed destination. His humor, kindness, and genuine devotion to his job shone through the brilliant, ever-present twinkle in his eye, and the kind smile which always lit his face. Rest easy, Phil. We were blessed to know you. Until soon. ❤️

I am so sad to hear of Phil's passing. I worked with Phil at MCC and he was such a fun and helpful person; Phil was someone that everybody at the college knew and were happy that they did know him. He was always so proud when he talked about his family. He will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends.

To the Quinlan family, We are saddened to hear of Phil's passing. Phil had time for everybody and was always generous with his time. His greatest gift was helping and aiding others. He can only be physically gone but never the life he lived, and the memories shared. May he rest in peace!

Phil was an extraordinary man who loved the College and our students. Once you met him, he became your best friend. His loyalty was on display with everything he did. He was the first person our college guests met when he picked them up at the airport. They all told us how gracious and accommodating he was to everyone. He was truly our International Ambassador.
He’s remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Blessings to his family! He loved you all and couldn’t wait to tell everyone how proud he was of all of you! He’ll be remembered in our prayers.

Everyone at Middlesex loved Phil and we all benefited from his commitment to his work every day! We used to joke with each other when I arrived in 2010 about being “ the other Phil”.
My sincere condolences to Phil’s family- he was a wonderful man!

Please know how much Middlesex Community College benefited from Phil’s loyalty and efforts for so many years . He was a great spirit of humor, common sense. and insights during my time as President. I always asked his opinion on subjects that he gave unvarnished advice on and found him to have keen observations. Mostly I just liked him very much and his passing saddens me knowing this loss to family and friends which was everything to him is irreplaceable. My sincere condolences.

Phil was a great guy. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and adored his wife. A true family man. Phil did so much to support me at the college, especially with the international visitors that we hosted. He made a wonderful impression on them and was a true ambassador. Phil would go anywhere anytime of day to help out. We had great conversations all the time. A true and loyal friend. God Bless Phil.
