Obituary of Diane J. Little
Diane J. Little, 88, of Billerica, formerly of Burlington, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25th surrounded by her loving family. Diane was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Kohler and the late Ruth L. “Alma” Kenney Kohler. She was the former wife of the late Warren J. Little.
Diane was predeceased by her baby sister Jacqueline M. Kohler and her brothers Donald J. Kohler and Norman P. Kohler.
She was a dedicated and loving mother who is survived by her six children: Charlene Dec and her late husband Mark of Arizona; Mark Little and his wife Lori of Pepperell, MA; Jacquie Staffiere and her husband David of Raymond, NH; Sharon O’Brien and her husband Peter of Burlington, MA; Scott Little and his wife Carol of Billerica, MA; and Eric Little and his wife Stacey of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren: Joe and Kevin Little; Krystal Evaristo and her husband Frantiesco; Zachary Staffiere, Dayna Floyd and her husband Capt. Adam Floyd – US Army; Christine Munroe and her husband Cody, and Max O’Brien; Christopher Little and his wife Kelly, Allison and Emily Little; Hanna and Adam Little; and her six great grandchildren: Jordan, Jayden, and Jackson Evaristo; Rose, Margaret, and Brielle Little.
Diane is also survived by her former daughter-in-law Patty Little, her nieces and nephews – Alice Kohler-Martin, the late Diane Kohler, Kathleen Coleman. Donald and Joe Kohler, as well as her dearest friends, whom she truly considered to be her sisters: Marie Ferguson and Gail McElhinney.
Diane spent her career in administrative support roles in several different companies over the years, but she was most proud of the time she spent as a civilian working for the Air Force early in her working life.
She was most dedicated to her children and the family that she raised. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Following her retirement, she continued to be a faithful servant of God and had a strong dedication to daily praying of the Holy Rosary.
Diane shared many things with her grandchildren. Among those most treasured was the recipe for her famous chocolate fudge cheesecake. However, despite best efforts on many occasions hers has yet to be matched. She was a long-time fan of country music, both old and new, and was an avid reader. Most recently, she spent much of her time completing crossword puzzles and keeping her mind sharp trying to beat the contestants on the Game Show Network. Visiting hours will be held at the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica on Wednesday, June 28 from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral from the Burns Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29 at 9:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Malachy’s Church in St. Veronica Parish, www.stveronicama.org, 99 Bedford Street, Burlington at 10am. Relatives and friends invited. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury at 1:00 PM.
