Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Leonard J. Richard, age 94, beloved husband of nearly 64 years to the late Dorothy G. Richard, passed away on April 17, 2024.

Lenny, as he was known to everyone, was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on July 10, 1929, the son of the late Mary Thibodeau and William Richards and was the youngest of 11 children. Lenny served in the United States Navy on board the aircraft carrier USS Bennington, where his friend and shipmate, the late Milton Gullage, introduced him to the love of his life, Dorothy Stares. They were married in 1953 on July 4^th.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas and wife Tracey of Gilbert, Arizona, and David and wife Barbara of Box Elder, South Dakota. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Debby Richard (wife of the late Mark Richard) of Methuen, Massachusetts, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a more than 60-year member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, North Billerica, MA, and served as a member of the church choir with his wife Dorothy for many years.

A memorial has been set for Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 14 Treble Cove Rd, North Billerica, MA 01862 with a social hour beginning at 12:00 pm and the memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm.
