OBITUARY
Earl Robert Preston
Earl Robert Preston was born February 6, 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Marjorie Chase Preston and Earl Robert Preston. He was the second child of five children.
Earl attended the Roberts School and Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge Massachusetts. After graduating from Rindge, Earl then enlisted in the military where he served in the US Navy 1955 - 1959, 2nd Marine Division. He was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and was discharged with Honors.
Earl worked for the Veterans Administration for several years. He trained and received certification for Accounting. During this period of his life he lived in California, and then Cleveland, Ohio for several years. He retired from the Veterans Administration in the early ‘90s. He returned to Cambridge, Mass., and became a taxi driver. He did this for several years, until full retirement around 2005.
Some of Earl’s hobbies and interests were listening to great music, i.e. Aretha Franklin, seeing Broadway Shows, going to Casinos, and playing the Lottery. Earl loved to travel, and had done quite a bit during his lifetime. He also took a cruise with his niece Sherrilyn, in 2009, to several Caribbean islands, including Barbados, St. Croix, St. Lucia, and Puerto Rico! He enjoyed going to nice restaurants, and eating the best of great food! Earl had excellent taste! He loved good quality whatever it was.
Earl is survived by his brother Kenneth L. Preston, of Cambridge. He is preceded in death by his sister Lorraine G. Preston Wood, brother William C. Preston, and sister Sandra A. Preston. He leaves behind his Aunt Marion Clarke of Sudbury, MA, sister-in-law Elaine Preston, brother-in-law James Wood, niece Sherrilyn (Sheri) Callender, Sandra Preston, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
