Five years ago my Grandfather met his 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Lee, Clifford Davidson and Thomas Davidson for the first time and reunited with his daughter, my mom Aleta. He was unable to meet my Dad. He was serving overseas at the time but I am sure he would have loved him too. We also got to meet our Aunt Jackie for the first time as well. The visit was brief but during that time special memories were made. It saddens me to say that my Grandfather Elias David Ortiz passed away and was laid to rest today. Although, we were unable to attend the services our hearts were still there with him. Rest In Peace In five short years, you graced my life, A beacon through the storm and strife. We laughed, we cried, we shared our days, Now lost to time's unyielding haze. Your voice, your smile, a tender light, Now fades into the endless night. Yet in my heart, you still remain, A whispered name, a gentle pain. Though time was brief, the love was vast, In memories, our bond will last. Goodbye, dear soul, till we meet anew, In dreams, I'll always think of you.

Thank you for the beautiful message. I'm in tears reading your message. I'm being selfish that he left to quickly. I know his in a better place but I'm heartbroken. A lot of love to you and the family. Thank you.

That message was beautiful thank you so much, he’s smiling down at US. He was over the moon with joy of meeting all of you. We talked about it all the time. I was happy for him thank you for making that time so great for him. Maggie

I remember the first day I met Elias in 2017. I met him through his wife Felicita and quickly witnessed his love and devotion to her and his family. Over the years I was in and out of contact with him and his family, but anytime we connected we talked about our shared background as Puerto Rican's, the food we liked, the music we enjoyed and Puerto Rico. Elias was always either caring for his wife, cooking, or caring for his chickens or his dogs. He was funny, open, and enjoyed having music on in the background no matter what was going on. When I visited with Elias and his family, they made me feel at home, offering me sofrito, or rice and beans and chicken to take with me. I have the privilege of having his daughter Maggie in my life and treasure her like a long-lost cousin. Rest in peace Elias, I am glad to know you have reunited with your love Felicita again.
