Obituary of Robert L. DeBarros

Robert Lawrence DeBarros’ Sun Rose on December 10, 1977 in Boston, MA and his sun set on June 9, 2024 in Malden MA. Robert went by many different names including “Bobby” “BDBZ” and “Rob Swinger” as he grew up in Roxbury and Cambridge MA. He is survived by his parents Robert Chicholm and Susan DeBarros-Chicholm, his two brothers Darrell DeBarros, Michael DeBarros, his first cousin Jauntee DeBarros, and his niece De’Adsha Cruceta. In the 1980s Bobby attended William E. Trotter elementary school in Roxbury before moving to Cambridge, MA where he graduated from John F. Kennedy middle school. He went on to attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School where he excelled in the Pilot program and performed in a number of school stage plays, which are well known for producing box office actors of today. Bobby continued to further his education shortly after and attended Virginia State University. There he took part in other various creative activities within the arts before returning home to Cambridge MA. Bobby enjoyed producing music, artwork and writing scripts. He had dreams of becoming a rapper and as he said - He had to be in Atlanta Georgia “The Black Mecca” with his people. So, he moved to Atlanta and stayed with his friend’s former schoolmates Mike and Mark Davis (Madtwiinz), originally from Cambridge MA and are known for the field of animation. While in pursuit of his rap career, Bobby worked at various locations and purchased a home on Don Juan Lane in Decatur, Georgia. Bobby eventually moved back to Malden, MA around 2010 at which time he was diagnosed with progressive Multiple Sclerosis, which is a neurological disease that attacks the myelin in your system. This diagnosis eventually ends up crippling one’s body, although Bobby endured many years of this illness we must say “he was not a complainer”. He consistently looked for other ways to better himself and others around him such as stock investments, education, and entrepreneurship. He created and designed clothing line logos including his own “Beantown Bangers” and “INFI” products. Bobby is predeceased by his grandmother, Ruth (Washington) DeBarros, grandfathers Roland DeBarros, AllHearn Chicholm and Reginald Mendes. Bobby also leaves to cherish his memories, aunt Sheryl DeBarros-Carter and husband Daryle Carter of Malden, MA, aunt Gail Nurse of Mattapan, MA, aunt Andrea Mendes-Mello Husband Ed Mello of Tewksbury, MA, uncle Roland K. DeBarros and wife Vanessa DeBarros of Medford, MA, uncle Reginald Mendes Jr. of New Bedford, MA, uncle Stephen DeBarros and wife Annie DeBarros of Gardner, MA, uncle Wesley Mendes of Fall River, MA and uncle Benny Young and wife Janice Young of Hilton Head, SC as well as a host of cousin's other family.
