We were next door neighbors for 32 years and he and Charlotte were the best neighbors. Frequently we would talk “over the fence”, mostly with Charlotte because Sonny was more reserved. He was always gardening and grew some nice tomatoes plus the oddest squash I have ever seen. We would frequently see him going for walks around the neighborhood or just sitting quietly in the back yard contemplating life. When we sold our house and about to move, Charlotte told us that Sonny was sitting at the kitchen table and started to cry. When asked why he was crying, he said I won’t be seeing Bill any more. Now that is a true friend We will miss Sonny.
