Obituary of Antonette M. Robinson

Antonette Robinson (Ciampaglia), 85, formerly of Billerica, passed away on January 14, 2025, after living with Alzheimer’s Disease and a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Anna was born on January 12, 1940, to Dominic and Clotilde (Perella) Ciampaglia in Boston, MA. After Anna graduated from Girls’ High School in 1957, she went on to work for the John Hancock Insurance Company for 11 years.

In 1966, Anna married her Dearborn Street neighbor, David Robinson. The couple moved from Medford to Billerica in 1968 where they raised their three children, Laura, Martha and Jeffrey. During her children’s early years, Anna stayed at home focusing on family life. With her husband, she created family traditions her children still celebrate today. During these years Anna volunteered as a Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother and taught CCD at St. Andrew Church. She was also a member of the Billerica Young Women’s Club where she participated in various community service projects.

When her children were older, she returned to work outside of the home as an Accounting Associate at Purity Supreme grocery stores and then Muro Pharmaceuticals. Anna retired in 2002. She spent the early years of her retirement traveling with David and their good friends to places like Aruba, Florida and San Francisco. She dedicated the middle years of her retirement to caring for David as his health declined. David once said he knew his life had been extended because of the exceptional care Anna gave him. During her retirement Anna also participated in activities at the Billerica CoA and water aerobics at the Boys Club. In the later years of her life Anna renewed her faith as a Catholic and became a member what is now the St. Matthew Women’s Club. She spent the last months of her life as resident of ARTIS Senior Living in Reading where she received excellent care in a community dedicated to the care of those living with dementia.

Antonette is survived by her daughters Laura of North Chelmsford, MA, Martha of Salem, MA and her son Jeffrey and his wife Karen of Cumming, GA. She was blessed to have known the joy of being a Nana to her grandson Kelly and two granddaughters Claire and Colleen. Antonette was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, David; her parents Dominic and Clotilde; her brother John Ciampaglia and his wife Rose; and her nephew Thomas Ciampaglia.

Antonette’s family would like to thank the entire staff at ARTIS Senior Living of Reading for the dignified and kindhearted care they provided during her time with them. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the providers at All Care Hospice of Lynn for the compassionate care they provided to Antonette as well as the guidance and reassurance they provided as her family navigated Antonette’s journey.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited.
