I worked with Janet at McDonalds, she was always so kind. She’s also the only person who could get me into that Hamburglar costume when I came home for a visit with my family after I quit working there! lol. She was absolutely the best human being I have ever known. Condolences to her family, I will keep her and you in my prayers.

I got to know many of Janet's talents when she worked with my Dad on Model Cities and housing issues. Her intelligence was surpassed only by her devotion to her family and to her neighborhood. She was much respected for her honesty.

I knew Ms. Rose when I was 17-18 and working at McDonald’s in Central Square. Janet was McDonald’s Community Liaison. She was a whirlwind, often running to a meeting, but she always took the time to smile and say a friendly or encouraging word, even to a kid burger-flipper. She made such an impression on me that I often think fondly of Ms. Rose, some 50 years later. My condolences to the Rose family.

Janet Rose was an activist who cared about the people of Cambridge and fought for those who could not fight for themselves. For many of us our first job was at McDonalds and most of us ended up graduation from college. She opened up doors for youth in her community. She was a second Mom and Auntie to many of us in the community. She was one of the three musketeers along with my mother Jacqueline Carroll and Pat McCarthy. They were sisters and now reunited. Love you Janet! Rest in power.

Janet Rose was a generational human being. It seems like I knew her all my life, as I grew up playing with her children in elementary school, becoming mischievous with them in high school and experiencing college and adulting with them. She was a force in our community who was there to be a voice for the voiceless. Her legacy is one of commitment to family, friends and community. She touched countless live and is responsible for much of the good that has come to those of us from the City of Cambridge. Her spirit lives on...in us all!

My deepest condolences to the Rose family. I only spent a little while with her and quickly realized what an amazing woman she was. I enjoyed her stories about working with my Grandfather and I immediately felt like I had known her forever. She was a hard working and accomplished woman who raised a beautiful family of which she was so proud.
God bless her and may she rest in peace.
