Obituary of Rosemarie Ann Quinton
Rosemarie Ann (Ruscitti) Quinton, age 75, of Billerica, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Rory was the bride of 43 years to the late Robert C. Quinton. The daughter of Dominic and Rose (Trischitta) Ruscitti, she was born in Cambridge on January 22, 1936. She attended Cambridge schools, graduating from St. John's Catholic High School. She earned her nursing degree from Cambridge City Hospital Nursing School in 1956 and maintained lifelong friendships with her classmates and fellow nurses. She and Bob were married in 1957 and raised their family in Cambridge. In addition to her years as a nurse at various hospitals and local corporations, she was a strong voice for her community and participated at many PTA events and other school activities. She loved to cook and to sing (badly) and to spend time with friends and family; she was known for her annual Christmas Eve open house on Newton Street. No one was a stranger to Rory! In later years she enjoyed traveling with Bob and spending summers in Nova Scotia until she suffered a stroke. Although her mobility was impaired, she continued to participate at family and social gatherings as often as possible. After Bob's death she enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives. Although her dream of winning an Academy Award and Mother Of The Year eluded her, at her 75th birthday party this year she was awarded a key to the City of Cambridge for her years of community involvement. Rory's sense of humor and love of family live on in her children: Kimberly Ericson and her husband Dave of Billerica, Robert P. of Arlington, Gary C. of Lynn, and David A. and his wife Emily (Smyth) of Malden. Rory will be missed by her grandchildren, Christopher Martin and his wife Meghan, Danielle Megan and her fiance Jeff Moreau, Keri Megan, Jessica Megan, and Paul Ericson, four great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless friends.
