Obituary of Virginia A. MacIntosh
Virginia A. (Narankevicius) MacIntosh, 79, a longtime resident of Billerica, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, of heart disease. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. MacIntosh. Born in Lowell in June of 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Adele Narankevicius.
She was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1949, and attended Lowell Commercial College. Virginia worked as a secretary in Billerica at the Boston and Maine Railroad where she met and married her Navy man in 1950.
Mrs. MacIntosh fed "her" birds everyday with leftover bread and enjoyed watching her "soaps." She proudly voted in every election, including the contested 2000 Presidential election, even though she was in the hospital and had to do it by absentee ballot.
A very proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Gigi), she loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn MacIntosh of Nashua, NH, Edwin C. MacIntosh and his wife Julie of Merrimack, NH, Robert MacIntosh of Billerica, and Carolyn Adams and her husband Glen of Nashua, NH, her grandchildren, DJ MacIntosh of Winchester, VA, Melissa MacIntosh of Merrimack, NH, and Jaime and Jennifer MacIntosh of Denver, CO, her great grandchildren, Will and Sage MacIntosh of Winchester, VA, and Joe Lavoie, a family friend and wonderful next door neighbor.
