Delmont E. "Gene" Hill, age 78, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann Marie (Miller) Hill. Born in Augusta, Maine, January 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Lovell and Madalyn (Thurlow) Hill. He retired from Raytheon Corporation in Waltham after 34 years as a sheet metal worker. Mr. Hill was a resident of Waltham for many years prior to moving to Billerica with his daughter. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Burzyk and her husband David of Billerica, Cindy Drover and her husband Wally of Danville, NH, Laurie Taranto of Billerica, and Linda Picard of MO, his sons and daughters -in-law, Rick Hill and his wife Melodee of GA, Kenny Soderholm and his wife Leslie of Natick, Bobby Soderholm and his wife Susan of VA, and Wayne Soderholm of KS, and his sisters, Penny Pray of Mechanic Falls, ME and Patsy Holt of Oxford, Maine. He also leaves his 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, and 19 great nieces and nephews. He was also the brother-in-law of Harry Wilson of Mechanic Falls, ME and the brother of the late Gordon Hill, Ted Hill, and Bev Wilson.
