Obituary of John Kenneth Reardon
John Kenneth Reardon, age 71, a resident of Billerica for more than 40 years passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2012 with his family by his side. John was the loving husband of Isabelle "Shayne" M. (McPhail) Reardon, with whom he would have celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on June 6. Born in Boston, September 26, 1940, John was the son of Catherine M. (Harris) Reardon and the late John J. Reardon. Mr. Reardon was raised in Winthrop, and was a 1959 graduate of St. Sebastian's Country Day School. Following high school John served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. Prior to his retirement, John made his career as a site Superintendent working in the Local 56 Pile Driver's Trade Union on many projects that currently dot the Boston Skyline. Mr. Reardon enjoyed many hobbies including stamp collecting, model trains, needle point, and being a Civil War historian. He also championed the establishment of the Middlesex County Canal Museum located in the Historic Faulkner Mills in North Billerica. More than anything, John cherished spending time with his wife while supporting the many activities of his sons and grandchildren. Besides his wife, John leaves three sons and daughters-in-law, Sean Patrick and Vikki of Pepperell, Daniel James and Joan of Billerica, and Christopher John and Cindie of Groton. John was affectionately known as "Pa" to his beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Kylie, Colby, Holly, Christian, and Jake Reardon. He was also the brother of C. Ronald Reardon of Coral Springs, FL, and the lifelong friend of John L. Cadigan of Hudson, MA.
