Genevieve L. (Roland) Finlayson, age 88, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald A. Finlayson, whom she wed on February 14, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born in Baltimore, August 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Grace M. (Luber) Roland. She volunteered for many local organizations, but especially at her church, the First Parish Church in Billerica. Genevieve, who traveled with her husband throughout the country, enjoyed attending bagpiper Shriner events. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Ronald Brown of Barnard Vermont, her two grandchildren, Kate Gower of Freeport, Maine and Ian Brown of Stockbridge, Vermont, her great granddaughter, Addison Gower, and her brother, Charles E. Roland of Sykesville, Maryland.
