Thomas R. “Ronnie” Montgomery, age 76, died, unexpectedly, Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Velma L. (Gage) Montgomery. Born in Somerville, May 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas and Georgina (Butchart) Montgomery. He was known as a hard worker who owned the Thomas R. Montgomery Plastering Company in Billerica until his retirement. Thomas was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks #2071. Besides his wife, he is survived by his 5 children, Thomas R. Montgomery, Jr. of Petersham, Kimberly L. Montgomery of Townsend, Shannon M. Baker, her husband Jeremy Baker, Cindy L. Montgomery, Kevin M. Montgomery, and his wife Melissa Montgomery, all of Hudson, NH. Thomas was the brother of Kenneth Montgomery of Chelmsford, David Montgomery of Wells, ME, Sheryl Knickle of Billerica, MA, Robert Montgomery of Wells, ME, the late Arthur Montgomery and Lois Howe. He also leaves his grandchildren, Courtney, Amanda, Kristen, Tiffany, Jeremy, Emily and Taylor, his great grandson Solomon and many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed drives to Vermont and Maine, coffee, and his quilt collection created by his wife Velma. A caring father and devoted husband, recently celebrating 53 years of marriage. Their wedding ceremony was held at the No. Billerica Baptist church on Sept. 26, 1960. He was a kind man who always put others before himself.
