ERIN LYNN MCLAUGHLIN September 8, 1983 - October 27, 2018 On Saturday, October 27, 2018, Erin Lynn McLaughlin, beloved daughter of Janet L. (Velten) and the late Leonard M. McLaughlin of Billerica, MA, passed away at the young age of 35. Following graduation from Billerica Memorial High School in 2001, Erin attended Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH where she received an Associate’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development in 2005. After working in that field for a few years, she discovered a passion for cooking and was working in food service at the time of her death. During her college years, Erin enjoyed living in NH and spent as much time as possible exploring its beauty through hiking and photography. Other interests included music, poetry and writing. Erin accumulated friends wherever she went and was known for her kind heart, “always being there when needed” and having a “great sense of humor”. She was compassionate, unique, free-spirited, fun-loving, creative, and spontaneous. The biggest joy in her life was spending time with her 9 year old daughter, Alice. Erin was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be missed by many. Erin is survived by her mother, Janet McLaughlin of Billerica, MA; daughter, Alice McLaughlin-Wilson and Alice’s father, Jason (Jay) Wilson of Dover, NH who has been a significant part of Erin’s life since college; Sisters: Shauna and her husband Eric Bowden, and 2 children Tyler and Hannah, of Milford, NH; Colleen McLaughlin, and her significant other, David Marino and their son, Dylan of Billerica, MA and her loving grandmother, Alice Velten of Stoneham, MA. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews: Julia and Ellie Wilson, of Longmont, CO and Vasilli and Demetri Lellos-Wilson, of Tewksbury, MA and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pre-deceased by her father Leonard (Lenny) McLaughlin; grandfathers: Clifford Velten and James McLaughlin; her nana, Dorothy McLaughlin and her very special Aunt Diane Frates.
