Billy E. Aldridge, age 88, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home in Billerica. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeannie (Streel) Aldridge. Born in Thaxton, VA, January 6, 1927, he was the seventh son of thirteen children of the late Henry H. and Eugenia (Byrd) Aldridge. Billy served with the United States Army during WWII. Following his time in the service, he worked as a supervisor at Polaroid Corporation in Waltham. If you ever played cribbage at the Billerica Senior Center on Wednesdays, chances are you had probably seen Billy; a volunteer at the Senior Center since 1989, Billy had been in charge of the 25 member cribbage club since that time. Between 1995 and 2001, Billy was also the chairman. He loved his dog, Daisy, and he enjoyed working in his garden. He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Pangburn and Jane Ketchersid, both of VA, and Byrdie Alice Sanders of NC. He also leaves many nieces and nephews including Reene, Micheal, and Christ and his dear friend, Carl Hunnewell of Billerica. He was also the father of the late Darlene and John Aldridge and the brother of the late James, Thomas, Harold, Edwin, Jack, Edith and Isabel, Mary, and Phillip.
