Obituary of Thomas F. Mullins

Thomas F. Mullins, Jr., age 80, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his home in Malden. He was the beloved husband of Karen M. (Walsh) Mullins and the late Loretta (Meehan) Mullins. Born in Brookline, August 8, 1935, he was the son of late Thomas and Margaret (Fisher) Mullins. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Korean War. Tom enjoyed his work as a licensed electrician for Polaroid until his retirement in 1987. In 1979, he was ordained as a Permanent Deacon at St. Theresa’s Parish in Billerica, a position he remained in until 2006. As founder and president of St. Theresa’s Bereavement Group, Tom provided a much needed service to the parish of St. Theresa and the community of Billerica. Tom had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at Lake Winnipesaukee. As a beloved member of the local community, Tom was loved by many and will be missed by all. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin M. Mullins and his wife Cathleen of Waltham and Thomas F. Mullins, III and his wife Susan of Billerica; his daughter, Deborah Mullins of Hudson, NH; his siblings, Sheila Fountain of Winter Park, FL, Priscilla Elliot of Burke, VA, David Mullins of Copper Canyon, TX, Maureen Robertson of Cocoa, FL and the late Robert Mullins. He also leaves his 5 loving grandchildren, Thomas F. Mullins IV and his wife Bibiana, Lauren (Mullins) Halper and her husband Jeremy, Kevin Mullins and his husband, Ben Gerson and Steven and Brian Sabo, as well as 2 great grandchildren. Tom was also blessed with 3 step children and 4 step grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
