Robert C. Hilpert, age 72, died, Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Virginia M. (Fraize) Hilpert. He was born in Albany, New York, June 11, 1936, the son of the late Charles and Evelyn (Ackerman) Hilpert. A United States Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War. He worked for Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge in the Research and Development department as a supervisor. He was also the director of the Audio Visual Department for the Mass College of Art in Boston for over 10 years. A Billerica resident for 40 years, he was a member of the New Colony Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Jeffrey Hilpert of Somersworth, NH, Carol Scmiel of Lowell, Timothy Hilpert of Billerica, and Jennifer Jarzynka of Billerica, and his sister, Caroline Hilpertshouser of Springhill, Florida. He also leaves his eleven grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Dorothy Hensley.
