Dorothy B. (Powers) McGurk of Cambridge peacefully passed on January 22, 2016, she was 91 years old., beloved wife of the the late Joseph P. McGurk, daughter of the the late Mary E. and John J. Powers of Cambridge, Sister of the late Joseph J. Powers of Cambridge, who received the purple heart medal for his services in the U.S. Army medical mash unit, sister of the late Rita M Conlon of Cambridge, devoted mother survived by her son Mark P. McGurk of Texas, daughters Maureen A Smith (McGurk) and her spouse the Late Timothy J. Smith of Malden MA, Marilyn M Tedesco (McGurk) and spouse Ralph J Tedesco of Kittery Maine, Marjorie B Bryan (McGurk) and spouse Edward J Bryan of Malden, MA. Grandmother of: Timothy McGurk, Veronica Monk (McGurk), Jonathan Smith, Mathew Tedesco, AnneMarie Tedesco, Kenneth Bryan, and Kevin Bryan (Who is presently serving in the U.S.Army). Great Grandmother of Devon P McGurk of Texas and the newly Sophia Rose McGurk of Texas. Emerita McGurk, Isac and Tristen Monk of Texas. Aunt of: Regina A Cowell (Conlon), of Sparks Nevada, and Richard J Conlon of Tampa Florida. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, including the mother of her grandchildren Amy McGurk. Dorothy was residing at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville. Daily she went to mass and prayed the rosary. Once a week she would pray the legion of Mary as well. She took part in many of their activities she specifically loved Art, Singing and Bingo. She was always willing to try something new.
