Gertrude A. (Reed) Trent, known affectionately as “Gert” passed away on November 2, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Originally from Cohasset, Gert enjoyed a career with Polaroid that spanned 31 years. Gert dedicated over 40 years of her life to the preservation of Billerica’s historical landmark the Bennett Public Library where she served on the Board of Directors for many years most recently as Vice President. Gert will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years Terrence (Terry) and their beloved children Heather (Peter) Fariello and Hillary (Paul) Genge. Gert will be fondly remembered as a devoted grandmother by her grandchildren, Nick, Erin, Olivia and Gwendolyn and loving sibling to sister Helen (Reed) Garvey of Scituate, brother Walter Reed of Hingham. She was predeceased by brother Robert Reed and parents R. Leslie and Betty Reed of Cohasset. Services will begin with visitation at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston RD, (Rt.3A), Billerica from 4-7PM, Tuesday November 13th. A Catholic Memorial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 796 Boston Rd, Billerica on Wednesday November 14th at 10AM. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery 40 Heald St. in Pepperell will follow the celebratory memorial services that take place at St. Mary’s of Billerica.
