Mary (Jackson) Rounds, age 94, died Thursday, November 12, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family. She had been a resident of Billerica for 92 years. The daughter of Hector and Amelia (Smith) Jackson, she was born February 13, 1915 in Tewksbury. At the onset of World War I in 1917, she moved to Billerica and was raised by members of the Chandler family. She graduated from Howe High School in 1934 and recently attended her 75th class reunion. Mrs. Rounds was married to A.P. "Pete" Rounds in 1938 until his death in 1969. For 80 years she was a beloved member of the First Congregational Church in Billerica and enjoyed the fellowship of its "Aim-Hi" group for 70 Years. Mrs. Rounds retired from the MITRE Corporation in 1980. She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Foster and her husband Roger of Westford and Barbara Reinecker and her husband Edward of Billerica; her son, Allen P. Rounds, Jr. and his wife Susan (Mason) of Columbia, SC; her six cherished grandchildren, Nancy St. Laurent, Julie McCoy, Nicole Massey, Allen Rounds III, Jonathan Reinecker, and Elizabeth Campbell; and her six great-grandchildren. She also leaves many dear friends. She also was the sister of the late Hector L. Jackson.
