Doughty of Boston, formerly of Woburn, May 3, 2017, Rev. Edward F. Doughty, age 56. Beloved son of Frances (O’Connell) Doughty of Somerville and the late John H. Doughty. Loving brother of Susan Smith and her husband, William, of Biddeford, ME, Noelle Chiasson and her husband, Steven, of Billerica and the late John Doughty. Also survived by 6 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew. A reception of Father Edward into St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish, Billerica, will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 7. Rev. Doughty will lie in state in St. Theresa of Lisieux Church, 470 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Sunday, May 7, from 2-4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish, Billerica on Monday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. After graduating from Woburn High School and the University of Lowell, he enlisted with the United States Marines, serving until 1986 with a rank of corporal. He then entered St. John’s Seminary and was ordained a priest on May 20, 1995. Rev. Doughty served the Archdiocese of Boston for 21 years. His parish assignments include St. Richard Church in Danvers, St. Bonaventure Church in Manomet, St. Jerome Church in Weymouth, St. Bernadette Church in Randolph, St. Brigid Church in South Boston and Gate of Heaven Church, also in South Boston, Salem State University and University of Massachusetts, Boston, St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford as well as St. Joseph Church in Medford. He was also a former band director of Woburn High School and a member of the Commandant's Own Marine Drum & Bugle Corps. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rev. Edward F.
