Penny J. (Taylor) Lowe, age 72, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Lowe to whom she was married for almost 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Penny) Taylor. Penny, a graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1962, received her bachelor's degree from Salem State College. She continued her education at UMass Lowell, earning her Master's degree. Because of her love of children, Penny became a teacher. She taught at the Dutile Elementary School in Billerica for 14 years. Penny was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, and just about any crafts project. Penny was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family vacations in Maine, doting on her grandchildren. She was an active member with her husband, Charles, of the Burlington Church of Christ. Besides her husband, she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn (Katie) Gauthier and her husband, David and Elizabeth (Betsy) Lemmon and her husband, Michael, and seven grandchildren (Taylor, Victoria, Joshua, Rachel, and Jared Gauthier and Michael and Brianna Lemmon) all of Nashua, NH. She is also the sister of Robert Taylor of SC and the sister-in-law of Laurence Lowe of Lynn.
