Joseph Charles Pangraze, 80 years of age, born in Quincy, MA and raised in Manchester, NH and having lived most of his adult life in Billerica, MA, died following a prolonged illness on Monday, June 26, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Judith Pangraze, his devoted son, Charles Pangraze, his daughter in law, Lee Pangraze and his granddaughter, Oliva Pangraze all of Billerica, MA. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Joseph Pangraze, mother, Mildred Swist Pangraze and sister, Margaret Pangraze. He is also survived by his brother, Robert F. Pangraze of Seneca, SC and his sister, Dr. Mildred Donlon of Bethesda, MD as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Joe had a zest for life and was always optimistic in the everything he did. He loved and cared for his family immensely. As a youth, Joe learned to love the game of golf having caddied for many summers at Manchester Country Club. He joined the navy and served as sonar operator from 1954-56. Later Joe used the GI bill, and graduated from the University of Lowell with a degree in electrical engineering and followed that with an MBA from Boston University. Joe worked many years for Digital Equipment Corporation, traveling to international destinations including Scotland where he got to play the game he loved, golf. Joe was a member for many years at Billerica and Andover Country Clubs, his collection of golf clubs numbered in the thousands. Joe will be remembered with a visitation at the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd, Billerica, MA 01821, on Saturday, July 1, from noon to 1pm with a brief prayer service at 1pm.
