Sarah Jane (Elliott) Cassidy, age 95, died peacefully in Lowell, MA on August 15 with her family at her bedside. She was born July 24, 1922 to Robert and MaryJane Elliott in County Donegal, Ireland. She immigrated to the US at age 17 and married in 1948. She loved her family, knitting, gardening, poetry and singing hymns. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Chelmsford, MA for 46 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William J Cassidy, and is survived by two sons and two daughters: William Cassidy of Salem, NH, Robert and wife,Margaret Cassidy, of Phoenix, AZ, Deborah Cassidy of Tewksbury, MA, and Dorothy and husband, Richard Newcomb, of Billerica, MA; three grandchildren: Robert Cassidy, Erin and Wesley Newcomb; and 2 great grandchildren: Robert and Brady Cassidy. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept.15, 10:00AM, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd, Chelmsford, MA. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Sarah's name to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
