Augustus J. Fama (Gus) passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones on August 28th, 2017. Gus is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Lillian (Dillon) Fama, his three sons and their wives, Leo and Denise Fama, Frank and Susan Fama, and Michael Fama. He is pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law Karen Fama. Gus is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is predeceased by one great grandchild. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 12th, 1938 to Leo and Jenny Fama, Gus was the third of five children. Surviving siblings include Santa Fama and Loretta (Fama) Galante. He is pre-deceased by his brother Guy Fama and sister Elizabeth (Fama) DiOrio. A commercial printer by trade, Gus had a passion for art and enjoyed drawing and painting landscapes and portraits. He liked to spend his free time in Rockport, Massachusetts pursuing this passion. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday September 1st at 10:30 AM at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church at 466 Boston Road Billerica, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gus’ name to the National Stroke Association 9707 E. Easter Lane Suite B Centennial, CO 80112. Interment to be determined at a later date.
