Obituary of George Daniell Spering
George (Danny) Daniell Spering, age 83, died December 31, 2008, at Lawrence General Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Mary (Betty) Elizabeth (Beattie) Spering. Born in San Francisco, February 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Matilda (Daniell) Spering. In 1944, at the age of 19, he joined the Coast Guard and served on the LST-832 in the Western Pacific during WWII. He lived in the Brighton/Allston area before settling in Billerica in 1960. In 1991, after 35 years of service, he retired from Raytheon as a QC Inspector in the Missile Systems Division. He loved to sing and was a member of the choir at St. Luke�s Episcopal Church in Brighton, Allston Congregational Church, and the First Congregational Church of Billerica. Enjoying retirement, he and his wife traveled to many places, including Japan. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Elizabeth (Borsic) (Ferrer) Spering of Billerica, his son, Lawrence Daniell Spering of Ashburnham, MA, his cousin Rosamond (Prussman) Stevens and her husband James of New Haven, CT, their children, Melodie (Stevens) Penton of New Haven, CT and Maribeth (Stevens) McEwan, of Meredith, NH and his �grandchildren�, Max and Wolf of Billerica.
