Obituary of Robert J. Scalise

Robert J. Scalise April 14, 1952 - May 31, 2018 Bob Scalise of Southbridge MA, formerly of Natick MA, age 66, passed away suddenly May 31, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife Diane (Bates) Scalise. He was born in Newton MA, April 14, 1952, son of the late Salvatore "Sam" and Irene (Berube) Scalise of Natick and predeceased by his sister Debi Dearing of San Diego CA and his brother Chuck Scalise of Natick. Bob is also survived by his brother Steve Scalise of San Diego CA and sister Sue (Scalise) Baker of Billerica and predeceased by brothers-in-law Randy Thomas and Dan Baker. Also survived by niece Christine (Baker) Duwart of Danvers and nephew Kevin Baker of Somerville; brother-in-law Rick Dearing, nephew Derrick Dearing and niece Stephanie Dearing of San Diego CA; step children Jennifer (Peaslee) Preston of Springfield and Matt Peaslee of New York; along with uncles, grand nephews, and many cousins and friends. A sweet and kind person to many, Bob enjoyed interacting with his family and friends through Facebook and video chat. He loved his Boston sports teams! Bob grew up living most of the year at Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton from age 4 to 17 where he made life long friends. He studied to be a machinist at Newton North High School and graduated in 1973. He retired from a long career as a union machinist at Raytheon Waltham and Andover. Bob married his Clarke School sweetheart Diane Bates Scalise and they shared their love for their dogs and each other. He will be missed.
