Obituary of Kathleen M. White

Kathleen Marie (Clarke) White, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at her home in Chelmsford with her family by her side.  She fought a courageous battle with cancer for 8 months.   She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” T. White III.  Bill and Kathy would have celebrated their 50^th wedding anniversary on December 5, 2020. Kathy was born on December 27, 1947, daughter of the late Alfred and Shirley (Holmes) Clarke. Kathy graduated from Billerica High School in 1965.  She had the pleasure of planning the class reunions. Kathy graduated from Andover School of Business in 1967 with a degree in Business Management.  She went on to work at Itek as a legal secretary for the patent and licensing department. Kathy grew up going to Long Sands Beach in York, ME with her mother, father, brother, and cousins.  She continued the tradition of trips to the beach with her husband Bill.  She would spend hours walking the beach and searching for seashells.  Her love for the beach brought her to vacation in Maui, Hawaii, and Bermuda.  She and Bill enjoyed bougie boarding at Long Sands and Scarborough Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island.  Kathy and Bill also traveled to Switzerland, Germany, and Colorado.  She really enjoyed visiting with her cousin Leslie and husband Bob of Hinsdale, MA, especially for the Fourth of July firework display.  As a family there were many memorable trips with husband Bill, son Jeff and daughter-in-law Caroline.  One of the most memorable trips brought them to the Grand Canyon.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and attended many games. Her Schnauzer Abby was so loved she would sleep with them every night.  Abby would also travel with them to many events and vacations. During her retirement, she and Bill loved cruising in their 1935 Plymouth hot rod that Bill built.  They spent many days with the car club, Putt Putt cruisers, at cruise-ins and events. Kathy is survived by her husband William Tisdale White III, son Jeff and his wife Caroline White of Tyngsboro.  She also leaves behind Sister-in-law, Bess Clarke, of Billerica, Brother-in-law, Samuel White, of Dracut, and nephews, Scott and Shane Clarke.  She was the sister of the late Alfred “Skip” Clarke, Jr. Private visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10:00-11:00am at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road, (Rt. 3A), Billerica, MA. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, pay their respects and exit the funeral home promptly to allow other guests to enter.  A private ceremony will be held from 11:00-12:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital, https://www.lowellgeneral.org/ or the American Breast Cancer Society.
