Obituary of Marc F. Colimon
Marc Colimon of Cambridge, MA passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2021, at the age of 89 after a brief hospitalization.
Born in Jeremie, Haiti, to Marc Colimon Sr. & Elvire Dorce. Marc was a great man in many ways and was loved by all who met him. He was a loving, charming, strong, and brilliant man who lived a full life. He was a great husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and a great friend who always put others first.
Marc Colimon married Clara Lorig on June 9th, 1960, and went on to have seven children: Mae, Alvire, Richard Rams, James Reginald, Nathalie, Karl-Henry, Stephanie... grandchildren: Gilbert, Taaj, Ashley, Ramikah, Jonathan, Ramsden, Tyari, Zoe, Dakota, Marcus, Nylah; and most recently his heart was full of joy after having met the newest member of the family, his great-grandchild, Marcus.
Marc grew up in a large family; he had 4 brothers and five sisters. He is survived by Dr. Raymond Colimon Dorce, Mrs. Alvire Paul, Mrs. Monique Malary, Dr. O’nell Colimon Dorce along with sisters and brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marc Colimon started his career as an Accountant at SAFICO, Haiti, where he worked for over 20 years. He later migrated to the US in 1980 where he continued his professional career at State Street Bank as an Accountant for many years until retirement in 2000.
Our father was a travel enthusiast, he enjoyed visiting different places all over the world. However, his real passions were: writing (poetry/short stories/playwright), acting, photography, and videography. One could always find him with his video camera in hand capturing moments and creating memories in all our family functions. We are proud to say that our father has left us a treasure of pictures and videos to cherish for the rest of our lives.
Marc was a very quiet man by nature; however, his presence was felt immediately whenever he entered a room. He treated everyone with dignity and respect regardless of their social status. He enjoyed hosting family and friends and always went above and beyond to ensure they felt welcomed. He had a gift for remembering and celebrating everyone's birthday, he would always express his sentiments by calling, sending a card, and flowers, and for that he will be greatly missed.
