Karen M. Trickett(Macumber)
Merrimack, NH- Karen M. Trickett, age 81 passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, after a long battle with lung disease. Karen was born in Dorchester,MA. Daughter of the late Emery and Mary (Molly)Macumber. On May 5, 1962, she married the love of her life, Joseph(Joe)Trickett. They met in Saint Rose Drum and Bugle Corp. They made their home in Chelsea until 1972 when they moved to Billerica and raised their two daughters, Mary and Andrea. In later years she was reunited with her biological family. Learning she had 12 other brothers and sisters.
Karen worked in Accounting/Finance most of her career, being the Financial Controller as her last position before retirement for QPL Electronics. When retirement came, Karen along with her beloved Joe left Billerica behind and moved to North Woodstock NH. Their retirement was one for the books! Karen loved to ski,bike,walk and golf. She loved to plan dinner parties and events. She was dubbed “The party planner/cruise director” by friends and family. Karen took a part time job along with her Joe at Loon Mountain. They were so happy to have a season ski pass and ski vouchers for their family. She traveled to many places- Italy,Ireland,Switzerland,Caribbean and many places in the US.
Karen was an avid attendee of her grandkids activities. From Dance,Cheerleading,Football,Soccer and Lacrosse, she was their biggest fan. She was fondly known to her grandkids friends and teammates as “Nana T”.
Karen was the beloved wife of 60 years to her late husband Joseph Trickett. She was the loving mother of Mary Hommel and husband, Richard, of Billerica, and Andrea Kelly and her late husband, Michael, of Londonderry, NH. Proud Nana of Emily Hommel, Victoria Velasquez and her husband Jovannie, Ryan Kelly and Erin Kelly. Karen was the sister to the late Barbara Doucette,Richard Macumber ,Kathleen Ponti, Caroline Innello, Lillian Silva, Patricia Farlin, Dorothy Hathaway, John Murphy, Joseph Murphy, Harold Murphy, George Murphy and William Murphy. Survived by Irene Wolfe and James Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Funeral from the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Wednesday, September 18 at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Irene’s Church, Carlisle at 10:30AM Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Burns Funeral Home, Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
