Born in Brighton, March 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Walsh) McCormick. After graduating from St. Columbkille High School in 1948, Rev. McCormick attended Boston College. He entered St. John's Seminary in 1950 and was ordained a priest in February of 1956. Rev. McCormick served the Archdiocese of Boston for 60 years. His last and longest assignment began in 1988 at St. Theresa Lisieux Parish of Billerica where he remained as Senior Priest in Residence following his retirement. An avid sports fan, Father Jack loved his Boston teams. No one was happier than he when the Red Sox finally won the World Series in 2004. He was often seen, sporting his Patriots jacket, greeting parishioners as they left Mass. It was not only professional teams that he cheered on. His favorite college teams also got shout outs. It was not unusual for Father Jack to attend and encourage Billerica High School teams. His final blessings at the end of Mass often included a "Go Pats", "Go Celtics" or "Go Sox". In addition to being a sports fan, Father Jack also enjoyed playing sports. He could often be found on the tennis court or on the golf course. Father Jack was devoted to his family. He is survived by his sister Margaret and her husband Brendan V. Callanan of Belmont, and his sister Regina Rourke of Brighton and his beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was also the brother and brother-in-law of the late Mary Ann Kennally and her husband, William Kennally, Henry F. McCormick and his wife, Roxanna McCormick, and James J.
